Wakeo Privacy Policy

HastRadar Consultancy Services ("HastRadar", "we", "our", or "us") is dedicated to protecting the privacy and personal security of children and families who use our mobile application Wakeo (package name: com.hastradar.wakeo).

This Privacy Policy provides clear, transparent information regarding what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how it is stored and secured in Google Firebase cloud infrastructure, and the rights parents hold under international privacy frameworks including the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and India's Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023.

1. Information We Collect and Purpose

Wakeo collects minimal, purpose-bound data strictly necessary to provide reliable remote parental alarm functionality:

• Phone Numbers: Used exclusively for secure account authentication via Google Firebase Authentication SMS OTP. We do not use your phone number for telemarketing or promotional messages.
• Live Wake-Up Selfie Photos: When an alarm rings on a child's device, the child snaps a front-facing selfie to verify they are awake and out of bed. These photos are transmitted over encrypted HTTPS/TLS to Google Firebase Cloud Storage and displayed strictly on the paired parent's private dashboard.
• Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) Tokens & Device Identifiers: Used to dispatch high-priority data messages from parent devices to child devices to create, edit, or toggle alarm schedules in real time.
• Device Health Telemetry: Child device battery percentage, charging state, network connectivity, and exact alarm permission status are transmitted to the parent dashboard before bedtime to ensure the device won't shut off overnight.
• Pairing Information: Ephemeral 6-digit numeric pairing codes and user-assigned child names to maintain linked family relationships.

2. Sensitive Android Device Permissions

Wakeo requires specific system permissions to ensure alarms trigger reliably across all Android manufacturers:

• USE_EXACT_ALARM (Exact Alarm Scheduling): Required by modern Android systems (including Android 14, 15, and Android 16 / API 36) to pierce through device battery-saving Doze mode and sound the alarm at the exact scheduled second.
• FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PLAYBACK (Foreground Audio Service): Enables the alarm to play loud, uninterrupted looping audio through the device alarm stream over the lock screen while presenting the selfie verification interface.
• CAMERA (Camera Access): Used exclusively at the time of alarm ringing to capture the front-facing wake-up selfie. Wakeo does not access the camera in the background or during normal app navigation.
• READ_PHONE_NUMBERS / Google Play Phone Hint: Used on dual-SIM devices to display a convenient phone number selector during initial sign-in.

3. Children's Privacy (COPPA, GDPR & DPDP Act)

Wakeo is designed for families with children. We comply with all relevant legal requirements regarding minor data safety:

• Verified Parental Consent: A child device can only receive alarms and upload selfies after being paired with a parent account using an explicit 6-digit pairing code initiated and authorized by the parent.
• No Behavioral Tracking or Profiling: We do not track children across apps, build advertising profiles, or monetize children's data.
• Parental Inspection: Parents maintain complete oversight to review, inspect, or delete any photo uploaded by their child at any time.

4. Data Security & Storage Architecture

All data handled by Wakeo is stored in Google Cloud Firebase enterprise infrastructure:

• Encryption in Transit: All communications between the app and cloud backend utilize TLS 1.3 / HTTPS encryption.
• Encryption at Rest: Cloud Firestore documents and Cloud Storage photos are encrypted at rest using 256-bit AES encryption.
• Role-Based Access Control (RBAC): Strict Firebase Security Rules ensure that only authenticated parents with verified relationship tokens can access their paired children's photos and alarm schedules.

5. Data Retention and Account Deletion

We retain your account data and photos only as long as your family account remains active. Parents have the full right to delete their data at any point:

• Self-Service In-App Deletion: Navigate to Settings > Profile > Delete Account to immediately purge your profile, unpair child devices, and erase all stored selfie photos.
• Web Deletion Request: Visit our dedicated Account & Data Deletion Page or email support@hastradar.com with the phone number associated with your account. Requests are processed within 30 days.

6. Third-Party Disclosures

We do not sell, rent, trade, or share family personal information with third parties for commercial or marketing purposes. Service providers engaged are limited strictly to infrastructure providers necessary for app operations:

• Google Firebase (Google LLC): Cloud Authentication, Firestore database, Cloud Storage, and Firebase Cloud Messaging push alerts.
